My machine died on me last night! I took it to the shop this morning and now the waiting begins! Looks like I will not be sewing anytime soon. No clue when it will be ready. This is not fun!

Sniff, sniff, what do you think is wrong with it? Hope it can be revived!
Can you borrow one from someone you know that has one and isn't using it?
Sorry to hear this, hope they can bring it back to life! I'd be lost without mine, but I do have a spare I could use.
My machine died on me about 12 days ago....my LQS who does machine repairs graciously offered to let me borrow one of theirs until the repairs are done on mine. Maybe you could ask if your repair shop has loaners. It is seriously sad to want to sew and be without a machine!
Hoping for a quick repair. Just got back and now this. So sorry for you.
Awww...sorry to hear that Britt! I think I need to get a back-up machine too - I've worked with the Singer that you can get at Wal-Mart for about $97 and really liked it! Hope you get something to use soon!
So sorry britt! I'd go stir crazy if I couldn't sew for any length of time. I have my old necchi machine that I can use if that ever happens to me. I wouldn't want to FMQ with it, but it can piece nicely. Hope your machine gets fixed quickly. Maybe planning your next quilt and going fabric shopping will keep you busy for a while so you're not walking in circles. :)
Hope it is a quick fix!
Last year when i couldn't sew because of my foot I spent my time cutting fabric for future quilts. not quite as much fun as sewing but it did keep me out of trouble.
I hope it get fixed soon. Like Bec said maybe you can do some planning or shopping.
I feel your pain. My babylock died on me in January and I lost a good month waiting on the LQS to get it fixed. Since then, I have been diligent about cleaning it. And changing needles more frequently. I am so wanting a good back up machine, too. I have a few but they are so old which is why I bought Baby in the first place which was many years ago.
Hope you can get yours back soon and in the meantime ~ plan, drool over the net or books and then plan some more.
Maybe you should invest in a spare machine, just so you don't go into withdrawals...maybe a Featherweight cutie! They are so nice to have on hand. I hope you aren't without for long....Hugs.
Oh Britt, so sorry to hear that. I know how you feel, I am in the same boat. My neighbor did lend me a machine but it only does straight stitch so no FMQ or zig-zag stitching on appliques. But I am getting a new machine either today or tomorrow... YIPPEE!!
Hope your problem is a quick fix.
That will teach you to leave her alone for a couple weeks.
Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. I know how frustrating it is to be without your baby. Here's to a speedy recovery.
Oh yes, I actually have a spare machine it was the one we found in the garage in a box of yardsale stuff. I have been meaning to take it get serviced and just hadn't gotten around to it! She said to call her later this week and get an update on the progress. We only have one shop here and it seems they are backed up! I plan on calling Friday to get an update.
